Jasper Johns

Jasper Johns makes his art work by layering different materials after creating his sculptures in wax. In the photo below you can see the texture of these flags, meaning underneath the layer of paint he has put a material,  which has left a very rigid look to these pieces. This piece is called "Three Flags" and it was made in 1958.

This piece below is known as "Painted Bronz". I like this piece, because of its different collors and different size brushes which makes it look like it was used in an actual art studio. "Painted Bronz" was made in 1960 when Jasper Johns was exactly 30 years old.

I enjoy this piece, it reminds me of the dentist. It is known as "The Critic Smiles". I think the name is very interesting in the way it goes along with the piece showing that a lot of thought probably went into naming this tooth brush. "The Critics Smile" was created in 1959

When I was searching for 3D pieces made by Jasper Johns, it was a little bit hard to find pieces that caught my eye. This may be because Jasper Johns's main type of art is painting and print making. Although he does make occaisional sculpture, it would be much easier to find his number paintings or interesting prints. However, after I was looking for a little while, I found a few pieces that were both realated to light, These are so creative and detailed.

Sandy Webster

Image result for sandy webster

Sandy Webster is a women who began basketry as her first subject in art. She makes many different types of pieces now, but bellow are examples of her mixed media work. Sandy Webster also makes paintings, drawings, and involves herself with print making. She started off in the basketry department of art, and then realised that she couldn't tell all of her stories through her basketry art work. When she decided to create other art work she put her basketry pieces aside and began to focus on art that could show her feelings with theyu way you see it and the way it was built. Sandy Webster was raised to recycle, which may be one of the reasons why she enjoys mixed media designs.

Mayan Art Work

These below are photos of mayan art work in the form known as cancuens. They are round pieces which are 3D instead of being two dementional.

There are many different catagories of mayan sculpture and mayan art work in general. Some different catogories of mayan sculpture are the stelas, lintels, and the altars. This photo below is an example of stelas.

Many years ago wood carving mayan art work was highly common. However, Spanish colonial authorities began destroying these carvings causing very few authentic pieces to survive today.

George Segal

These are some peices of art made by a man named George Segal. He commonly creates works of art using plaster to make casts of human bodies in everyday situations.
Here are some examples of what he does:

Walk, Don't Walk is the nae of this piece, which represents people waiting to cross the street. This is just one version of this piece in which many were made.

Another piece by him is this one, showing a man working his hours putting together a large platform. Maybe a roof, maybe a garage. I enjoy this photo because it feels very real and reminds me of when iI renevate houses and put in so many hours for the feeling of relief when all is finished.

This photo again feels very real along with most of the art work he creates. In this photo you see a man and a female sitting together casually on a bench in public. Although these people are not real or breathing, they still give off vibes as if somebody were there with you.

Negative space

These are examples of negative space in photos. My favorite thing about these photos is the way they can be so dark, yet you can still visualize so much and really feel the detail they bring while being so simple. Here are some photos that caught my eye.

Gohmn Art Work

Gohmn Art Work

I picked this type of art because it makes me think how these things would ever be possible to make,
I could stare at these photos forever just stuck on the thought of seeing one of these things in my life.
I picked this type of art to see bigger things in life and to be able to see them on my blog and imagine making one of these things and how long it would take to create along with making the blue prints and planning the design. I wonder how much it would cost to make one of these items.

Even though this was the first photo I saw, that's not the reason why I picked it. What I see when i look at this photo is a picture of nature paired with nature layed on grounds of earth and soil. When I see this photo i notice three things,
1: His eyes are closed to show peaceful resting as if he were taking a nap in the green grass of an open feild.
2: He has no hair, which is a different yet interesting thing to notice when viewing this piece.
3: He looks like he is still alive when you look at his neck and the way it arches over the grass rather than just laying on the grounf as if he weren't using any muscles to hold himself up.

This piece of art is a portait, which reminds me of roots making a person instead of their usual living form as a tree.

This piece is very sharp and is a very good example to show just how big these pieces of work can actually be, and how much effort it would take to make them.
I enjoy looking at the tree noticing that this large golden diamond shaped piece of art is in the middle of no where standing out, but there is a large green tree that you would see driving anywhere any road.

12 insperational masks

I enjoy these masks below, because they made me intrested in creating more art, and i find them very insperational. my favorite one is picture number 5 because i like how some of the mask is not there but that frame still remains even though it is very see through.

Frank Stella

the following pieces of art are made by a man named Frank Stella, he is known for his architecture, scupture, screen printing, and paintings. He commonly works in areas of minimalism and abstract pieces. My favorite piece by him is the one below, because I feel it shows how not all art is only 2D, but some pieces are 3 dementional and stand out.

This next one I find interesting because of the way it grabs you eye, even though it is a very dull color. Think about how much thought Frank Stella must have put into these pieces, or maybe he doesn't think. He just works his thoughts onto paper, which is the way many people make their own art. Frank Stella is 80 years old, and he still makes amazing art today.

This is a very large piece of architecture, which was made in 2014 in NYC. I like this photo because it shows how large his pieces can be, and i also like the way it twists and wraps around the air and supports its own weight in the studio.
